The seminar in contemporary business issues allows program participants to explore current issues facing business professionals and consider ways to apply DBA activities and ideas to their current and future professions.
APPLIED REGRESSION ANALYSIS
DBA 820
Applied Regression Analysis will focus on the estimation of various regression models. It introduces student to the regression methodology, assumptions of the framework and corrections for violations of the assumptions. Sample articles are used to highlight the applications in academic research. Applications in consulting projects are also discussed.
MICRO ISSUES IN BUSINESS
DBA 870
This course provides an overview of topics in behavioral fields from different business domains. The focus is on explaining individual behaviors across a number of business functions such as consumer behavior in marketing, organizational behavior in management, and behavioral research in finance. The phenomena of interest deal with individual behavior.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, DATA ANALYTICS AND QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

Within the context of the current business environment, it is crucial to expose students to AI and Qualitative Research to better prepare them for their dissertations. This course will expose students to some of the most crucial aspects related to Artificial Intelligence and related data analytics. The course will also expose students to qualitative approaches. Various hands-on exercises will also be used to strengthen the concepts being discussed.
DISSERTATION PROPOSAL
DBA 920
This seminar focuses on the development and discussion of dissertation proposals. A dissertation proposal, which is a graduate school requirement, identifies what research question you want to tackle in your dissertation; it lays out the reason/justification for taking on that topic, and a statement about what steps you plan to take to execute the research. The development of the proposal is usually undertaken with close consultation with your dissertation committee members. Over the semester, students will work with their committee members to develop their dissertation to the point where significant progress toward dissertation proposal defense can be made.
DBA DISSERTATION
DBA 988
Students develop essays to investigate business problems that are of strategic importance to a firm/organization. A dissertation proposal must be completed and approved by the student's disseration committee before the student moves on to collect data in the area of research. A final defense before the disseration committed is required.
