BEGINNING AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I
ASL 141
This course focuses on the acquisition of American Sign Language (ASL) conversational skills. Students will learn conversational language and visual gestural strategies to promote ASL fluency. Grammatical principles and functions are emphasized, as well as appropriate cultural behaviors and conversational regulators in ASL. Students are also introduced to Deaf history and culture.
BEGINNING AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE II
ASL 142
This course focuses on the acquisition of American Sign Language (ASL) conversational skills and builds on the foundation laid in ASL 141. Students will continue to learn conversational language and visual gestural strategies to promote ASL fluency. Grammatical principles and functions; appropriate cultural behaviors and conversational regulators; and Deaf history and culture are emphasized.
