GREAT LAKES: PAST AND PRESENT
|
he course focuses on building a knowledge base of process limnology (freshwater system) that will be applied to climatic and environmental change in the Great Lakes. The physical, biological, and chemical characteristics of midwestern lakes is a central focus of the class. Students will conduct secondary research on a topic associated to the Great Lakes. Topics will focus on the spatial and temporal changes resulting from environmental change. This course will be of interest to students interested in the characteristics and processes of present-day lakes, lake management, paleo indicators of ancient lakes, and midwestern geography.
