This course uses critical theories and socio-cultural approaches to examine schooling and learning environments at large and specifically with regard to multilingual/bilingual learners. We explore educational contexts in the US through critical lenses, paying close attention to "multicultural education" practices and learning environments for multilingual/ bilingual learners. This includes an examination of immigration policy and immigrant student experiences.
