The focus of this course is to equip teacher candidates with comprehensive skills in the assessment and intervention of Assistive Technology (AT) in educational settings. It includes a sequential series of training phases, starting with a needs assessment and collaboration with AT assessment teams to evaluate and understand learners' needs, setting appropriate goals, and reviewing current technology utilization. Teacher candidates then develop intervention strategies by creating action plans, selecting appropriate AT products, and conducting trials. Student teachers conduct follow-up assessments to examine the efficacy of AT interventions, adjust strategies based on feedback, and document outcomes.
