Special Education Field 485
This field experience provides an opportunity to work with students with disabilities and qualify for special education, including students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, and learning disabilities, and to apply knowledge and develop skills within specialized programs. This two-unit field experience provides a pre-clinical experience designed to prepare the student for student teaching. Students complete projects and practice teaching skills. This course is an opportunity to help students process what they are learning about teaching, themselves, learners, curriculum, and the social milieu in which teaching occurs.
Other Requirements: PREREQ: (SPECED MAJOR AND SPECED 361 AND ADMISSION TO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION) OR (SPECED MINOR AND SPECED 321 AND ADMISSION TO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION) COREQ: CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT IN SPECED 440 AND SPECFLD 485
