2025 Spring Term
Music Education 160
This required course is intended to prepare pre-service music education majors to teach across varied learning platforms while creating a culturally responsive classroom for an urban or rural setting. Students will learn the foundational skills and understanding of the music profession through field study, exploring education philosophers/theorists and culturally diverse topics. Course assignments are meant to develop strategies for planning to meet student learning needs, gain understanding of assessment of students' learning and applying Universal Design. Using self-reflection and research-based, primary-source materials, students will create a personal music education philosophy and present that philosophy during a MUSED Jury.
