This course is a performance-based survey of Musical Theatre beginning with the Golden Age in the early 20th Century, and chronologically surveying the styles and genres through the present. Students enrolled in this course will become more proficient in the areas of: song analysis, preparation, and performance; character choices as they relate to stylistic choices; the history and vocal literature of musical theatre; and cabaret development and performance.
