CAREERS IN MUSIC AND THE ARTS

Students will learn about careers in music and the arts, and develop career skills for the music and arts industries that include resume and biography writing, interviewing, networking, and building an online presence. Throughout the course students will learn from professionals in arts fields through guest lectures, develop the idea of brand identity, and will practice applying and interviewing for employment in the music and arts industries.
HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL

A study of Rock and Roll with emphasis on the roots, origins and influential figures in the history of this cultural phenomenon. Includes recorded listening experiences.

A guide to the underst&ing of non-West & ethnic West music through guided listening experiences of representative music throughout the world; the study of the effect of demographics & geographic concepts within a culture; & the resulting impact on America's diverse musical culture.
