INTRODUCTION TO LEGAL STUDIES
LEGALST 101
Introduction to Legal Studies introduces students to the major. The course also outlines major requirements and explores opportunities for majors such as internships and undergraduate research, as well as discussions about legal careers including, but not limited to, paralegal, legal assistant, law school (and attorney).

INTERNSHIP IN LEGAL STUDIES
LEGALST 493
This course is designed to give students the opportunity for professional development. Through internship placements students combine academic learning with practical experience in their future career fields. The department has placements in courts, private law firms, legal assistance agencies, and other legal advocacy groups. Students may enroll for up to 12 units of internship. The department requires 50 hours at an internship placement for each unit of 493 credit (e.g., 3 units = 150 hours).
