EXPLORING THE UNIVERSE
ASTRONMY 101
A non-laboratory course that introduces the basic concepts of astronomy, including cultural and historical considerations. Study of the universe, galaxies, stars are among the topics to be covered. One observation night may be required (unless the course is offered online).
INTRODUCTION TO ASTRONOMY
ASTRONMY 112
An examination of concepts regarding the organization and structure of the universe. Laws that govern the universe, stellar evolution, galaxies and structure of a solar system are among topics covered. In addition to labs, there are one/two required evening observations sessions during the semester (none for online).
INDEPENDENT STUDY
ASTRONMY 498
Study of a selected topic or topics under the direction of a faculty member. Repeatable. Department Consent required.
