Curriculum & Instruction Gen 460

This course examines the history and development of career and technical education both in the United States and Wisconsin. The administrative structure of career and technical education at the local, state, and national levels is outlined. Career and technical education (CTE) program areas are discussed with emphasis given to issues, trends, and problems in career and technical education. Students will be introduced to the 12 elements of high quality Career and Technical education, learn about CTE-specific pedagogy and begin applying them to planning, instruction, and assessment. This course meets the Department of Public Instruction's course requirement for vocational certification (1281).
