COMMON LAW CRIME & PUNISH
|
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to explore the evolution and development of law, particularly crime and punishment, in a cross-cultural context. Specifically, we will examine legal and government institutions that regulate crime and punishment policy in three common law countries: England, Scotland, and Ireland. A portion of the class will be conducted at the UW-Whitewater campus and the remaining portions will be taught in Dublin, London, and Edinburgh.
