This course examines new historical themes each semester with an expert in the field. In a small seminar setting, classes will focus on discussion of a variety of different kinds of historical sources and provide the opportunity for students to carry out their research project on the topic.

HY0320HY0320 INDIGENOUS GREAT LAKES HISTORY
This course is an introductory research seminar in the Indigenous history of the Great Lakes region from pre-contact to the present. Emphasis will be placed on understanding this history through an examination of a wide variety of primary source documents. Students will develop a focused research question and agenda, culminating in a brief, source-based, research paper.
