A functional approach to algebra with emphasis on applications to different disciplines. Topics include linear, exponential, logarithmic, quadratic, polynomial and rational equations and functions, systems of linear equations, linear inequalities, radicals and rational exponents, complex numbers, variation. Properties of exponents, factoring, and solving linear equations are reviewed.
Other Requirements: PREREQ: MATH 41 WITH A GRADE OF C OR BETTER OR WAIVER

This is a web based course using Canvas. A short while before class, information will be sent to each student's UWW email address. Required additional fee of $50 per credit will be assessed for this class. Exams are to be taken in a proctored environment. Students who cannot come to campus are responsible for finding a proctor and obtaining the instructor's approval. This course requires Cengage Unlimited for textbook delivery and WebAssign, an online homework system that provides immediate feedback and support. An additional required fee of $35 will be assessed for WebAssign which is available at the UW-W Bookstore. |
