Critical reading and writing with emphasis on textual analysis of a variety of genres (both fiction and nonfiction), critical argumentation, the writing process, and conventions of academic prose.
Other Requirements: PREREQ: ENGLISH 90 OR ITS EQUIVALENT. RESTRICTED TO STUDENTS WITH ACT ENGLISH SUBSCORE OF 17-29 (SAT VERBAL 430-699) OR COMPLETION OF ENGLISH 90. UNREQ: ENGLISH 100, ENGLISH 161, OR IEI 161
