FOUNDATIONS OF CHEMISTRY
CHE 112
Designed to prepare students with limited Sci. backgrounds for success in CHE 125, the CHE 145/155 sequence, or CHE 165. Through lectures & discussions, this course emphasizes fundamental chemical concepts, chemical nomenclature & problem-solving skills.
GENERAL CHEMISTRY I

For students whose programs require a year of college Chem. or who plan to take advanced courses in Chem.. One year of recent high school Chem., CHE 112, or another preparatory Chem. course is recommended, but not required. NS/LS Students must be enrolled in one lecture section (L001 or L002) & one LAB section (L041 L042 or L043) & one discussion (L061 L062 or L063)
GENERAL CHEMISTRY II

The second Sem. of a one-year course in college Chem.. Consists of lectures, discussions, & laboratories. For students whose programs require a year of college Chem. or who plan to take further courses in Chem..
SURVEY OF BIOCHEMISTRY
CHE 203
A foundational course in the chemical makeup & metabolic processes of living organisms. Consists of lectures & may also include discussions & demonstrations. Together CHE 125 & CHE 203 constitute a year course with emphasis on organic & biological Chem..
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
CHE 352
Basic Lab techniques for organic Chem. including commonly used synthetic methods, purification & characterization of reaction products. Six to eight hours of Lab per week. CHE 352 is equivalent to the combination of CHE 351 & CHE 361.
