This course introduces key ethical approaches as Kantian ethics, utilitarianism, and feminist ethics and addresses their application to issues in health care practice. Ethical issues to be addressed may include: end-of-life decisions, family planning, genetic technology, access to health care, and the role of health care professionals.

This is a web-based section using WebEx and D2L. Class will meet in real time twice every week, online, Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Central time. Attendance is required. One must meet specific computer system requirements to participate in this course successfully: Check out this link: http://www.uww.edu/icit/services/webex. Access to a computer with a microphone is preferable, a web cam is not required, and headphones may be useful. Information on how to access WebEx will be sent to each student's UWW email address shortly before the class begins. Required additional course fee is $150. |
