CIVIL RIGHTS HISTORY: TRAVELING FREEDOM'S LINE (SPRING BREAK TRAVEL STUDY). This inspirational week-long bus tour will take students to sites that played a significant role in the civil rights movement of the 1950s-1960s. Students will travel to Memphis, the Mississippi Delta, Selma, Montgomery, Birmingham, and Chicago, plus a separate day trip to Milwaukee. This is an opportunity to learn about a transformative chapter in American history as students visit the places where history was made. Travel dates are March 21-28, 2015. In addition to the spring break trip, the class includes three pre-travel and one post-travel class session, and one field trip to Milwaukee, all mandatory. Class sessions will be held on Mondays, 9:30-10:45 on February 9, February 23, March 9 and April 27. The day-long field trip to Milwaukee will take place on Friday, April 17. Estimated cost is $600. Limited space available. Applications are due before registration can be approved.
