TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN THE ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE GRADES

Elementary/Middle 425
The student will be instructed in how to assist the elementary/middle pupil in his understanding of mathematics, will become acquainted with different pedagogical techniques to be used in the contemporary mathematics classroom and will be taught to devise evaluation techniques to measure their effectiveness.

A required course fee of $42.00 will be charged to students who did not receive a math manipulative kit in MATH 148. ELEMMID 425 classes will meet during its schedule times from Tuesday, September 4, 2007 until Friday, October 19, 2007. Classes will break for field study experience and will resume Monday, December 3, 2007. Classes other than field study should not be scheduled between 8:00 am and 12:30 pm.
