HISTORY OF 19TH CENTURY ART
ARTHIST 316
A slide illustrated lecture course examining major social, scientific and technical factors affecting stylistic progressions in painting, photography, architecture and sculpture during the nineteenth century. European art movements will be the principal concern of the course. Usually offered fall term.
CONCEPTS IN ART SINCE 1945
ARTHIST 319
A course designed to study the complex developments in art since 1945. Emphasis will be placed on experimental concepts, their evolution and their manifestations in today's society. Offered spring term only.

This is a lecture course that covers the History of Graphic Design from the invention of writing through the digital revolution. Topics include such areas as Postmodern Design, Multicultural Design, Corporate Design Systems.
