STRATIGRAPHY AND SEDIMENTATION

2006 Spring Term

Geology 319

Classification and description of the various kinds of sediments and sedimentary rock units; with emphasis on carbonates; cyclic sedimentation and sequence stratigraphy; and techniques of correlating sedimentary rocks. Two hours of lecture and two hours of lab each week. One field trip is required. A special fee will be assessed to those students electing to participate on an optional field trip to cover transportation costs.

Other Requirements: PREREQ: GEOLGY 100 OR GEOLGY 101 AND GEOLGY 204 OR CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR
