BEGINNING ALGEBRA

Mathematics 41

A course for those who need to strengthen their basic algebra skills. Topics include properties of the real numbers, linear and quadratic equations, linear inequalities, exponents, polynomials, rational and radical expressions, and systems of linear equations. The course credits count towards the semester credit load and GPA, but are not included in the 120 credit graduation requirement.

Other Requirements: PREREQ: APPROPRIATE SCORE ON THE UW MATH PLACEMENT TEST

This course counts in the GPA but not in the 120 credits needed for graduation. This course requires Cengage Unlimited for textbook delivery and WebAssign, an online homework system that provides immediate feedback and support. An additional required fee of $35 will be assessed for WebAssign which is available at the UW-W Bookstore. This is a hybrid course which will have both classroom meetings and online instruction. Further information will be provided on the first day of class.
