This course is an examination of the impact of various types of technology on a user's view of and behaviors regarding social responsibility. The use of digital technologies (such as social media, blogs, wearable technologies, video games) will be examined with regard to issues of gender, race, class, and sexuality, public health, political dissidence, and capitalism.

This class will be taught online using Desire2Learn (D2L). Students will gain access to the D2L classroom at the beginning of the semester. This course will meet semi-synchronously, with Tuesdays and Thursdays considered as in-class days. On in-class days, students will be required to post videos of themselves responding to discussion questions. An additional $150 fee will be assessed for this course.
