This course provides an introduction to the major methods used in the data mining of quantified data. The way to use the large amounts of data available in data warehouses and data marts available to organizations to support business analytics is discussed. Students will learn and apply an understanding of classification, association and prediction methods. the role of understanding the data in the context of the organization and its environment will be examined.

Other Requirements: PREREQ: ITSCM 380; ADMISSION TO THE UPPER DIVISION BUSINESS COURSES AND 2.50 COMBINED CUMULATIVE GPA FOR BUSINESS MAJORS OR 60 UNITS AND 2.00 COMBINED CUMULATIVE GPA FOR MINORS/NON-BUSINESS MAJORS FOR WHICH THIS COURSE IS AN OPTION
