SYMPOSIUM IN READING EDUCATION

The keystone of the course is the annual University of Wisconsin Reading Symposium on Factors Related to Reading Performance. The purpose of the symposium is to inform educators of current thinking on factors that appear to influence students' reading performance. The course will include attendance at the symposium and at additional class sessions. Repeatable.

This is a hybrid course with a portion of the class work being done online. Students will be expected to register for and attend the UW-System Symposium on Reading on June 23 & 24 in Madison, WI, at the Lowell Center, with additional on-campus meetings in Whitewater on June 15, June 22, and July 13. Reading materials are provided online by conference presenters, with the cost included in a separate conference registration fee.
