Curriculum & Instruction Field 404

Professional laboratory experience is provided under the guidance of carefully selected qualified cooperating teachers in secondary school classrooms in the area. Students with licensure who desire recommendation for licensure by this University, must complete at least 3-6 units of directed teaching on this campus regardless of the number of units earned elsewhere.

CIFLD 402/404 (Alternate Directed Teaching) and CIFLD 492 (Field Study) will meet during the same time period on different days. Students should reserve either 7:30am-11:30am MTWRF or 11:30am-3:30pm MTWRF for these courses throughout the semester. CIFLD 402/404 (Alternate Directed Teaching) is a field-based course, where studnets are placed in local schools. It is closely coordinated with CIFLD 492 (Field Study), which consists of a seminar. Students should register for 2 units of either CIFLD 402 (Middle School) OR CIFLD 404 (High School) AND 3 units of CIFLD 492. S/NC basis only. Students must receive a grade of S before being permitted to student teach.
