This course focuses on the organization of the language arts program in the elementary/middle grades with emphases on common functions of listening, speaking, reading and writing as elements of effective communication.
Other Requirements: PREREQ: PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION ADMISSION. RESTRICTED TO STUDENTS WITH CURRICULUM ELEMENTARY EDUCATION MAJOR

Students enrolling in a section of ELEMMID 422 must enroll in the corresponding section of READING 460. Classes will meet during scheduled times from Tuesday, January 18, until Friday, March 4. Field Study takes place from Monday, March 7 until Friday, April 29. Classes will resume at their normally scheduled times on Monday, May 2. All classes and field study occur in Janesville
