STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT

ITSCM 745

This graduate course prepares future leaders to manage technology-driven innovation as a core element of organizational strategy. Students will learn to anticipate technological shifts, assess the opportunities and risks associated with emerging technologies, specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), and integrate ethical considerations into their strategic decision-making. Through simulations, experiential learning, case analysis, and applied projects, the course emphasizes the development of critical thinking, managerial judgment, and leadership skills. Students will be equipped to design and implement technology-enhanced business models and innovation strategies that are both competitive and responsible in rapidly evolving markets.

OPERATIONS STRATEGY

ITSCM 768

A course focusing on strategic implications of operations decisions facing the top manager, such as the operations vice-president or plant manager. Cases are used to identify, analyze and recommend solutions to specific problems resulting from corporate decisions taken in the areas of processes and infrastructure. Current trends in selected industries are discussed.

FUNDAMENTALS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

ITSCM 770

This course introduces predictive and adaptive project management approaches, covering planning, budgeting, scheduling, and control. Students also explore generative AI tools for project tasks, gaining practical skills for modern project environments and preparation for professional certification.

DATA ANALYTICS AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

ITSCM 774

A graduate course covering the use information technology to assist decision making in today's business environment. This course provides an overview of decision making theory, data warehousing, data mining, business intelligence and analytics. The course also surveys contemporary framework, tools, and techniques for BI and data analytics.

BUSINESS PROCESS INNOVATION AND MANAGEMENT

ITSCM 776

The course provides an overview of concepts, methods and tools surrounding the definition, implementation, measurement and improvement of processes in organizations. Strategic and tactical phases of the Business Process Management lifecycle, consisting goal setting, process design, process implementation, process enactment and measurement, and process evaluation are covered.

DATA MINING FOR BUSINESS

ITSCM 777

This course focuses on the application of data mining for business. Topics covered include mining structured data, techniques for handling big data, working with unstructured data. Emphasis is placed on identifying and applying appropriate mining techniques for specific business problems, and interpreting the validity and utility of the results. Students will use data mining software to gain practical experience.

PROGRAMMING FOR ANALYTICS

ITSCM 778

This course introduces students to programming techniques for data analytics. The class will cover programming techniques necessary to carry out rigorous data analytics projects, based on data mining, machine learning, and statistical methods. No initial programming skills are required. Course concepts focus on providing introductory knowledge of data analytics methods. Course tutorials teach students specific code libraries that implement state-of-the-art data analytics methods. Each week students will work on mini projects based on real-world datasets.

DISASTER RECOVERY AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY

ITSCM 780

The course covers Business Continuity Planning, a methodology used to create and validate a plan for maintaining continous business operations before, during, and after disasters or disruptive events. It also covers Disaster Recovery, which is aimed at stopping the effects of disasters as quickly as possible, and addressing the immediate aftermath.

SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYTICS

ITSCM 781

This course explores the integration of data systems within the supply chain context. Includes an examination of descriptive, predictive approaches in managing supply chain networks. Topics include data modeling, role of big data, model development process, demand analytics, multi-echelon systems, and product development in the context of supply chain data flows.

APPLIED PROJECT MANAGEMENT

ITSCM 785

This course provides a practice-based experience in applied project management. Students will engage in scenario-based exercises, simulations, and tool-driven applications that mirror challenges faced by project managers across industries. Building on prior knowledge, the course emphasizes adaptive (agile and hybrid) methods while incorporating predictive practices where appropriate. Students will develop familiarity with project management software and explore how emerging technologies, including AI, are reshaping the field. The course aligns with standards and competencies recognized by professional certification bodies while remaining focused on applied skill development.

TEXT MINING, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AND ETHICS

ITSCM 787

This course focuses on the applications and ethical considerations of text mining and generative AI. Emphasis is placed on identifying and applying appropriate text-mining techniques for specific business problems and interpreting the validity and utility of the results, including ethical externalities. Students will use data mining software to gain practical experience. It will also extend these concepts to generative AI, covering the theories powering AI and its ethical implications. Students will use generative AI to develop business deliverables and tools applicable in a variety of contexts.
