CURRENT ISSUES IN COUNSELING: SEXUALITY

In this course, students will explore variations of human sexuality (e.g., pansexuality, heterosexuality, fetish) and relationships (monogamy, polygamy), and increase understanding regarding sexual development, functioning, sexual anatomy & physiology, sexual response cycles, psychological and social sexual dynamics, treatment of sexual disorders and sexual trauma/abuse, sexual behavior patterns, sexual communication, contraception, infertility, and sexually transmitted infections. The course will also increase student understanding on how to work effectively with client sexuality, intimacy, and relationship issues.
