This course will examine, in a historical context , how Sci. has been constructed & how it has interacted with other aspects of society, such as politics, religion, culture, & Eco.. These themes will be addressed by closely studying two transformations in scientific & human thought: first, the shift from an Earth-centered to a sun-centered Univ., & second, the development of the theory of Evolution by natural selection.
