This course is a community-based in which the class will partner with Fairhaven Senior Services, a planned life community for older adults located 3-blocks from campus (435 W Starin Road). Students will learn about factors related to aging, be trained on a creative story-telling program designed to engage older persons, and deliver the program to Fairhaven Residents. A portion of the classes will be held on site at Fairhaven. Other classes will be held face-to-face on campus as well as online via Canvas. The first class will be face-to-face and meet on the UW-W campus in the designated classroom. Subsequent meeting locations and designated formats will be provided on the first day of class.
Requirements: A flu shot and tuberculosis (TB) test is required to participate in this class. For students who do not already have the flu shot and TB test, these can be provided at no-cost by the community partner. A background check is also required. An additional fee of $10 will be assessed for this class.
